IPA is looking for an experienced Project Officer to work as part of the Protecting Biodiversity Team for an immediate start with our client based in Townsville.
The position on offer is a permanent role with full time hours. While generally Monday - Friday, 36.25 hours per week, the position may require some work outside of ordinary working hours, with time in Lieu accrued.
The position will also require travel within the region, predominantly day trips with time spent in the field. Overnight trips would be a rare but possible requirement.
Our client is offering an attractive salary package and above industry super (12.5%) plus professional development fees, the full package will be discussed at the interview stages.
As the position will be based in Townsville we are ideally looking for applicants who are based in the region. However, relocation assistance can be considered for the right person.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an independent organisation and be a part of sustaining the region's natural resources. You will help to manage a large $4M project aimed at protecting, maintaining and restoring biodiversity within the Coastal Burdekin Shire area.
This position would suit someone with Project Management experience, experience assessing the status of biodiversity, habitat condition and associated threats and pressures in coastal areas (wetlands, coastal dunes and aquatic ecology). The ability to communicate and engage with high level stakeholders (local/state government, the scientific and academic community, landholders, industry and Traditional Owners) is an essential element to this role.
